Crochet Lighter Cat stuffed Toy

Materials:

• Size E 3.5  mm Hook
• Your choice of Fine #4 Worsted Weight Yarn 
•           I use Red Heart Super Saver & Big Twist

• Tapestry Needle
• Stuffing      
• Stitch Marker
• Catnip (Optional)

Abbreviations:

Ch - Chain

Sl St - Slip Stitch

Sc - Single Crochet

Dc - Double Crochet

St = Stitch

Bl - Back Loop

Fr - Front Loop

Lighter: You start from bottom up - Choose the color that your lighter will be

Chain 8

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in the next 5 chains, make 3 Sc in the last chain, turn your work, you will now work on the opposite side of the chains.

Row 2: Sc in the next 5 chains, make 2 Sc in the last ch (16)

I now work in continuous rounds, or you can sl st and ch 1

*Make sure you move your stitch marker if you're working in continuous rounds.

Round 1-15: Sc in each st (16)

Change to Gray

Round 16-17: Sc in each st (16)

*On the last round of gray, make a 17th st, ch 1 and turn your lighter so your ch 1 is on the other side.

You now will work in the back loops & Front loops only

Insert hook into Bl of st and in the Fr of the opposite side and Sc (This will close the opening on one side) Continue this across to the end (You should have made 5 Sc’s)

Ch 2, turn, Dc in 1st st, sl st in same st, in the next st (Ch 2, Dc, sl st in same st) repeat this so you have 4 “points”. Sl st in last st.

Flames: I used orange and red

I cut 6” strands of the orange and red

I separated them in half (2 strands in each)

I then took the 2 strands of the red and 2 of the orange and i used my hook to insert them through the Bl and Fr of the open part of the lighter. The last strands, you can put close to the gray striker part. 

I knotted the strands. I trimmed them to my liking and feathered them out with my fingers a little or a brush.
