Child’s Pikachu Scoodie Crochet Pattern

Size: Childs Size (4T to 6T)

Note: You can always add stitches to make it bigger or less stitches for smaller sizes

Materials:
* For the Main part of the hat, I used Red Heart Super saver “Bright Yellow”
* For the Eyes: Scraps of Black & White
* Cheeks: Scraps of Red
* Nose & Mouth: Black Felt 
* Size H 5.0 mm Hook

* Size I 5.5 mm Hook
* Tapestry Needle
* Stitch Markers

Abbreviations:
Magic Ring
ST= Stitch
SC= Single Crochet
HDC=Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

Scarf Crochet Pattern: Using I hook
Chain 181
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd chain from hook and all the way across, Ch 1, turn (180)
Row 2-7: Hdc across, ch 1, turn (180)
Tie off and weave in ends

Hood Pattern: Using I hook
Fold Scarf in half, find center and place marker
Count 21 stitches from marker (center of scarf)
Row 1: Attach yarn and DC in 42 stitches across
Row 2: Dc in each st up to 1 st before marker, 2 Dc in next stitch, Dc in center st (Move marker up), 2 Dc in next st, Dc in the
rest of st, Ch 2, turn
Row 3-10: Repeat row 2
Row 11: Dc in each st to two sts before marker, Dc2tog, Dc in center st (move marker up), Dc2tog, Dc in rest, Ch 2, turn
Row 12-17: Repeat row 11
Flip hood wrong side out
Slip stitch in back loops only across
Tie off and weave in ends

*Attach yarn to scarf end and HDC all around scarf and hood. Tie off and weave in ends

Mittens:
Count 16 stitches from end and fold, remember to pay attention to see if you want the mitten on the outside or inside of
scarf
Stitch mittens closed on each side (See pic)

Ears: Make 2 – Using I hook
Starting with black
Round 1: Make 4 DC in Magic Circle, join w/ a sl st, Ch 2 (Do not turn, work in rounds)
Round 2: Dc in 1st st, 2 Dc in next, repeat, join, Ch 2
Round 3: Dc in 2 sts, 2 Dc in next st, repeat, join, Ch 2
Change to yellow
Round 4: Dc in 3 sts, 2 Dc in next, repeat, join, Ch 2
Round 5: Dc in 4 sts, 2 Dc in next, repeat, join, Ch 2
Round 6-10: Dc around, join, Ch 2
Tie off, but leaving a tail long enough to attach to hood

Eye Pattern: Make 2 – Using H hook
Round 1: With BLACK yarn make 6 Hdc in Magic circle, join, Ch 1
Round 2: Make 2 Hdc in each st, join, Ch 1
Round 3: Make 2 Hdc in same st as joined, 1 Hdc in next, repeat all around
Tie off, but leave tail long enough to attach to hood

Pupil: Make 2 – Using H hook
Round 1: With White yarn, make 8 Hdc in Magic Circle
Tie off, but leave tail to attach to eye

Cheeks: Using H hook
Round 1: With RED yarn, make 6 Hdc in Magic Circle
Round 2: Make 2 Hdc in each st, join, Ch 1
Round 3: Make 2 Hdc in same st as join, 1 Hdc in next, repeat, join
Tie off, but leaving tail long enough to attach to hood
